In Room 5 this week, we spent some time watching video clips with no talking and realised all the literacy skills we actually use when watching these types of programmes. We then watched them bit by bit and put together this collaborative story. Working in pairs we wrote the story to go with the video clip. Mrs Singh has taken something from everyone's story to create this!
The farmer pulled up to the gate and beeped his horn. Bitzer the dog opened the gate and he drove
into the paddock towing a boat behind him.
Bitzer and the sheep were surprised so went to have a closer look. The farmer opened the round window and all
this green gunk came out and covered his face.
He quickly closed it and wiped his eyes.
When he opened it again, he expected more green gunk to come out but it
didn’t. Instead a fish flew out and hit
him in the face. The farmer threw it
away and the sheep laughed. Bitzer was
given a mop and bucket of water. “Clean
the boat”, said the farmer and off he went inside. While Bitzer started to mop
the boat, Shaun the sheep came along and pulled the chain to the foghorn. It was very loud! As he pulled it again the chain broke so
Bitzer stuck the baby lamb in the foghorn to stop the noise. He then went to see who had pulled the chain
and took the broken chain off Shaun. “You
can clean up while I fix the blowhorn”, he told Shaun. Shaun began scrubbing the boat and slipped,
knocking Bitzer head first into a bucket.
The sheep laughed because the bucket was stuck on his head. They decided to hop on the boat while he
couldn’t see and start playing with everything.
One sheep blew up his life jacket and knocked another sheep off. Meanwhile the farmer was getting dressed up
in his captain clothes inside. He had no
idea what was going on. The sheep then
pulled the sail up and the wind started to move the boat around the
paddock. Bitzer tried to steer it but
they went rolling over the yard and crashed into the washing line. When they came bouncing back they sheep all
had pirate hats on their heads made from the washing and Bitzer had a pair of
undies over his. The farmer was inside
busy reading a newspaper article and still didn’t know what was happening. Finally someone threw the anchor out and they
stopped just outside the pig pen. The
pigs jumped onto the boat dressed like pirates too and they started to fight
with the sheep. Everyone had wooden
swords. They all had to walk the
plank. The pig pushed the sheep off and
he was flung up into the sky. He came
back down and landed hard saying, “Ow!”.
Bitzer tried to push the boat back to where it was but it was too
heavy. Shaun decided to help him. Another sheep lifted the anchor and gave it
to Bitzer. At the same time the wind blew
the sails again and Bitzer was pulled around the paddock like a water skier. The boat headed straight for the pool. The farmer came out just as Bitzer smacked
into the tractor. The anchor went flying
through the air and landed in the boat, making a big hole. It started to sink. To make them feel better, the farmer and
Bitzer went inside to warm up and watch some TV. When they turned it on, the movie Titanic was
on and the ship hit an ice berg and sunk.
